High School Preparatory
Students in grades 4-8 continue their studies in English, Literature, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Computers, Health, Art, and Physical Education. Students are encouraged to excel and may proceed through the curriculum at an accelerated rate. Classes are designed to prepare students for rigorous high school honors courses, and students may earn high school credits in eighth grade. Academic focus is maintained in a respectful and supportive environment. On average, students in grades 4-8 score years above grade level on the Stanford Achievement Test, with many scoring post-high-school by the end of the sixth grade. Each year, approximately 75% of sixth grade students’ scores qualify them to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP).
